Lorene E. Paasch, 80, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Wimbledon, ND died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Lorene Evelyn Walker was born September 24, 1932 in Courtenay, ND, the daughter of George F. and Alpha (Miller) Walker. She grew and was educated in the Courtenay, Jamestown and Wimbledon schools, graduating from Wimbledon High School in 1950. On June 16, 1950 Lorene married Freddie Paasch in Wimbledon. They lived on a farm south of Wimbledon before moving to a farm southeast of Courtenay in 1952. In 1966, they moved to Wimbledon and lived there until 2010. Freddie passed away in 1988. Lorene worked at Wimbledon Public School, Hi-Acres Manor, Rock of Ages, Bethel Home, and James River Senior Citizens Center. She also worked part time at St. John's United Methodist Church and Bank Forward, Wimbledon. She worked at the ND State Hospital from 1988-1999 from where she retired. For many, many years she ran a private sewing alterations business. She entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in October 2010.
Lorene enjoyed sewing, gardening, antique collecting and decorating for the holidays. She especially enjoyed her caffeine from Coca-Cola and coffee. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, GFWC Women's Study Club, all of Wimbledon.
Lorene is survived by her children: Dianne Purcell, Jamestown, Marjorie (Don) Triebold, Valley City, ND, Jerry Paasch, Kent, WA, Karen (Harold) Hagen, Barnesville, MN, Julie Paasch, New Stratham, NH and Tammy Cooper, Herber, UT; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; two daughters, Charlotte Schulz and Laurie Jean Paasch; and two brothers, Ernest and Ronald.
