Lois Gasal

Lois Gasal, 89, Jamestown, ND died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Lois Roeske was born April 6, 1925, in Jamestown, the daughter of Reynold and Martha (Daede) Roeske. She grew up in the Jamestown area and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper for Equity Creamery until 1946, when she began working for Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company as a bookkeeper. On October 25, 1953, Lois married William "Bill" Gasal at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They farmed in Bloom Township all their lives. Bill passed away on March 1, 1990.

Lois was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was an active member as a Sunday School teacher and the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Bloom Homemakers, Bloom Birthday Club and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her granddaughters and traveling.

Lois is survived by two children, David Gasal, Jamestown and Debra (Mike) Tellinghuisen, Horace, ND; two granddaughters, Katy and Lisa Tellinghuisen; and one sister-in-law, Velma Roeske, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Leroy Roeske.
