Lillian Wood

Lillian (Sjolund) Wood, 96, died on Friday September 26, 2014 in a Jamestown ND nursing home. Lillian May (Sjolund) Wood was born on May 25, 1918 to Edna Vivian (Rice) and Carl Johann Sjolund in Devils Lake N D. She lived with her parents and two sisters in Grand Forks ND where she graduated from Grand Forks Central High School and attended business college. Lillian married Louis Eugene Wood June 1, 1941. They lived in Coleraine MN and Minot ND before moving to Glendive MT in 1954. Lillian was the bookkeeper for Gene's business, Gene Wood Ready Mix, and she was active in the Dawson County Republican Women's Club. She was a longtime member of the Glendive Community Church. Together they raised their family of four sons and four daughters in Glendive where Lillian remained after Gene's death in 1991, eventually moving to Lewistown MT and then to Jamestown ND. Lillian is survived by a sister, Jeanette Skoglund, Portland Oregon; four daughters, Kathleen Carlson of Rochester MN; Carol (Dale) Dalbey of Minot ND; Helen (Dr. Paul) Williamson of Aurora CO; Barbara (Allen) Entzel of Jamestown ND; and two sons Keith (Iracema) Wood of St Paul MN; and David Wood of Lewistown MT; and daughters-in-law Ruth Finley of Billings MT and Jan Martin Wood of Billings MT. Twenty-three grandchildren have wonderful memories of Grandma Wood: Andrew (Tracie) Carlson, Sara Carlson, Nathan (Fran) Carlson, Laura Dalbey, Nick (Cara) Dalbey, Noel (Loretta) Dalbey, David (Alisha) Dalbey, Aaron (Emma) Dalbey, Kathleen Dalbey, Britta Dalbey, Lisa Dalbey, Ben Dalbey, Mark (Jennie) Williamson, Michael (April) Williamson, Mary (Jason) Lewis, Matthew Williamson, Eric (Amanda) Entzel, Emily (Iver) Mettler, Kyle (Kelly) Entzel, Leah Entzel, Elizabeth Entzel, Venise Berte, and Thyra Wood. She also has twenty-nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Eugene, an infant daughter Louise Wood, son Timothy Wood, son Bruce Wood, son-in-law Dale Carlson, and sister Helen Boostrom.

The funeral will be held Thursday October 2, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Victory Lutheran Brethren Church, Jamestown ND, with Pastor Shawn Bowman, officiating.

Interment will be in Glendive MT on Friday October 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm.
