Lillian V. Wehler, 96, Jamestown, ND passed away November 24, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Lillian V. Lawson was born near Wimbledon, ND, August 4, 1917 to Erick and Ida (Brunvold) Lawson. She grew up and attended school at Wimbledon and college at Jamestown and Valley City. Lillian married John Wehler on September 21, 1941 at Valley City. They lived in Valley City, Jamestown, Billings and Denver, but spent most of their lives in Jamestown. She had a son, John, born May 2, 1950 in Jamestown.

Lillian worked in several downtown businesses, but her longest period of employment was at the Jamestown Sun where she was a staff writer for over 30 years. She was active in the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown. After she retired from the Jamestown Sun, she and her husband, John, traveled around the country, Canada, Alaska and England.

After her husband, John, passed away on March 18, 2003, she lived alone for several years before moving to Rock of Ages. Failing health forced her to move to Eventide at Hi-Acres.

Lillian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Marilyn Wehler, Crystal, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Tom and Bernard and one sister, Etha Merz.
