Lillian L. Delong

Lillian L. DeLong, 97, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Lillian Lucile Wilson was born May 11, 1914 in Steele, ND, the daughter of George and Hattie (Hanson) Wilson. Lillian grew up on a farm near Steele where she attended school in both Steele and Jamestown. On November 16, 1932 Lillian married Robert DeLong in Jamestown. She worked the candy counter at Woolworths in Jamestown for 8 years.

Lillian was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, St. John's Lutheran Church, and volunteered at the North Dakota State Hospital for 23 years. Her hobbies included sewing, dancing and playing cards.

Lillian is survived by two daughters, Delores (Jim) Nelson, Junction City, KS and Bonnie (John) Batesole, Jamestown; 8 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five sisters; and seven brothers.
