Lester Johnson

Lester Johnson was born October 27, 1934 to Elliot and Sina (Lura) Johnson in Marion, North Dakota. The family lived on a farm north of Marion for several years, and in 1938 the family moved to a farm in Ypsilanti, North Dakota. He received his education in a rural school east of Ypsilanti. When his parents passed away he moved to the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur, ND.
Lester helped with the farm chores at home, which he loved to do. He made several bus trips with the Good Samaritan Home including, Branson Missouri, Grand Ole Opry, and a trip to see the Minnesota Twins. Lester was an avid Twins fan.
Lester is survived by 3 sisters, Velma Fruetal, Grand Forks, ND, Shirley Johnson, Otsego, MN, and Doris Orr, Jamestown, ND and sister in law, Blanche Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, LaVonne & Florence (infant sisters), Frances Wangrud, Hellen Hoffart, Lorraine Wibstad, 2 brothers, Earl and Lloyd, and sister in law Delores Johnson.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Immanual Lutheran Church with Pastor Lucinda Lien officiating.
Burial: Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND
