Leroy M. Frey

LeRoy M. Frey, 77, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Jamestown Hospital.

LeRoy was born January 20, 1932 in Hebron, ND, the son of Theodore J. and Emma L. (Herman) Frey. He grew up in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School. On January 12, 1951, LeRoy enlisted in the US Army and served his country in Korea. Upon his honorable discharge in January 1954 he returned to the Hebron area. LeRoy married Frances Reineke on May 27, 1955 in Hebron. He attended mortar school and was a partner in Herman & Frey Construction Company in New Salem, for many years. He later sold insurance. LeRoy moved to Jamestown where he was a custodian for Jamestown Public Schools and St. John's Lutheran Church, from where he retired.

LeRoy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. He enjoyed sports, bowling, playing cards, and dancing.

LeRoy is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Kevin) Stayton, Bismarck, ND; seven sons, Allen (Charleen) Frey, Glendive, MT, Scott Frey and Daniel Frey, both of Albuquerque, NM, Darryl (Tanya) Frey, Post Falls, ID, Robert Frey, Joseph (Diane) Frey and Kristopher Frey, all of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosaline Reineke, Bismarck and Sharon (Roger) Riedlinger, Elgin, ND; one sister-in-law, Raghnild Frey, Mandan, ND; and a special friend, Florence Scherbenske, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Robert Neil Frey; and two brothers, Irvin and Larry; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Frey; and one brother-in-law, Edward Reineke.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Harlan Kaden officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: 10:00 AM, Monday, March 16, 2009 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
