Laverne Kapp

LaVerne Kapp, 84, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
LaVerne (Bosche) Kapp was born May 21, 1929, to Adolph and Freda (Hofmann) Bosche, in Medina, ND. She attended Medina Public School, graduating in 1948 and then taught country school 6-7 miles south of Medina. LaVerne married Edward Kapp on September 8, 1950. They moved to Billings, MT in 1952 and returned to Medina in 1963. LaVerne operated a creamery with basic grocery items. In 1976, LaVerne was employed at the ND State Hospital until 1983 when she moved to Sioux Falls, SD. She moved back to Medina to help care for her mother. After losing her mother in 1993, LaVerne moved to Hawarden, Iowa until 2009 when she moved to Jamestown.
She loved to crochet, sew quilts, cross stich dish towels, and make her scrubbies. At family gatherings she loved to take everyone's quarters in the card game 31.
LaVerne is survived by one daughter, Nora (Collette) Schlecht; three sons, Dale (Sharon) Kapp, Brad (Liz) Kapp, and Wayne (friend, Kaye) Kapp; step-daughter, Betty Blankenship; son-in-law, Ron DeBoer; grandchildren, Todd (Nicole) DeBoer, Mitch (Buffany) DeBoer, Troy (Nancy) Schlecht, Tonia (Scott Perry) Schlecht, Allyce Schlecht, Kristine (Eric) Moormann, Janelle (Ian) Thomas, Jordan Kapp, Amanda Kapp, and Justin (Kristen) Kapp; great grandchildren, Adam, Haley, Tanner, Trevor, Faith, Chase, Christian, Camden, Jeffery, Jenna, Sean, Abigail, Rylie, Eli, and Paisley; three brothers, Raymond (Anna) Bosche, Eugene (Dee) Bosche, and LeRoy (Norma) Bosche; and three sisters, Ruth Oster, Alice Rogina, and Betty Rude.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughter, Patricia; parents, Adolph and Freda; step-son, John; brother, Norman; and sister-in-law, Evangeline.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at United Methodist Church, Medina, ND with Pastor Hazel Behrens officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.
