Larry Nording

Larry Nording, 58, of Jamestown, ND passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Eventide in Jamestown.

Larry Nording was born June 13, 1961 in Jamestown, ND to Larry and Rita (Lulai) Nording. While Larry was growing up, he lived and attended schools in Jamestown, Fargo, Minot and Austin, TX. He graduated from Courtenay High School in 1979. After high school he worked in Jamestown for his vocational education teacher Mr. Hutchy, as an apprentice. Larry also worked at Haybuster and John Deere. While living in Fargo he was employed by the Fargo Forum and the City of Fargo.

Larry was diagnosed with cancer. He never wanted to stop treatment no matter how sick he was. He was determined to do treatment when others would have been broken. Larry stayed strong and resilient and persevered. There was no quit in Larry. He was positive and motivated.

Larry had great faith in the Lord, and belief and trust in his catholic religion. He found peace in going to mass, receiving holy communion, last rites and sharing prayer.

Playing and winning at back gammon, chess, card games and especially pool were tops on his enjoyment list. Due to being social he liked to join in on meals at Progress Community Center. Larry liked going to concerts and shopping for Levi outfits. He requested to be laid to rest in Levi clothes. Larry was able to purchase a pickup he was proud to have and also an electric bike.

Those he shared his life with are; mother Rita, Jamestown; sibling Angela Nording, Jamestown, ND; uncle Edward (Cathy) Lulai, Fargo, ND; aunt Berna Birdsbill, Buchanan, ND; aunt Jean Nording, Jamestown, ND; nephew Travis Greer; special friends Fr. Joseph Barrett, Richard Dennis and Progress Community Group. Larry was preceded in death by his father Larry Nording, grandparents Gustaf & Martha Nording, Ed and Ardis Lulai, aunt Marsha Ulberg and several aunts and uncles.

Larry’s family requests when signing the guestbook to share a kind thought and memory of him. This would be appreciated so we can cherish his memory.

Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a rosary/vigil service at 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 15 at Williams Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 16 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND with Fr. Joseph Barrett officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried, ND in the spring.
