Larry Dennis Dallmann, Sr., 71, of Edgeley, North Dakota, passed away November 13, 2019 in the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND, surrounded by family. He was born to parents Otto and Mary Dallmann on December 30, 1947, on the family farm northwest of Edgeley. Larry graduated from Edgeley High School, class of 1966. He served in the North Dakota National Guard for six years. He owned and operated a gas station, worked as a heavy machinery operator, a mechanic, and was an owner operator truck driver. He married Caroline (Fehling), the love of his life, in 1967, who survives him.
Larry is survived by daughter Laura Dallmann, daughter Larina (Christopher) Graves, and son Larry (Elizabeth) Dallmann, Jr., as well as, granddaughter Adelaide Dallmann and grandson James Dallmann. Larry is also survived by brothers Gary (Roxanne), Donavon (Jamie), Kevin (Becky) Dallmann, and many half-brothers and half-sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eldina Dallmann, and other half-brothers and half-sisters.
Larry was known for his love of farming, hunting, fishing, and car racing. Throughout his life he never missed an opportunity to take a fishing trip with family, and go to a racetrack or hunt with family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for a good bird dog on a hunt, in particular, he loved hunting pheasants. Larry had a strong work ethic and a drive to see things through to completion, both characteristics he passed on to his children. He enjoyed engaging conversations with friends, family, and anyone he met. His quick wit and sense of humor made him a friend to many.
Burial services will be held in the summer of 2020 on a date to be announced. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Pheasants Forever to support his love of hunting.
