Lanny L. Braasch, 78, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

He was born on May 25, 1935 at Courtenay, ND. Lanny attended school in Minnesota and graduated from St. Cloud, MN. He moved to Minneapolis to begin his 44 year career as an engineer with the railroad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.

In 1981 he married Gloria Trefz. Lanny is survived by his wife, two daughters, Rebecca Braasch and Catherine Diesem; one step-daughter, Stephanie (Lester) Schlosser; one grandson; two step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty White.

He was preceded in death by his son; his father and mother; a step mother; and a brother-in-law.
