Kenneth Allen Backer

Kenneth Allen Backer, 68, died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home in Courtenay, North Dakota.

He was born the son of Elmer and Leona (Paczkowski) Backer in Jamestown on July 19, 1952. Ken graduated from Courtenay high school in 1970 and he started farming with his brother, Dale and in later years also his nephew Justin. He married Susan Attleson in 1974 and they had two sons, Aaron and Brian.

Ken enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, planting many trees as he was a conservationist and visiting with friends. He had quite a sense of wit and used it in writing articles and published a book.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly; brother, Bernard; brother-in-law, Robert Velure, and sister-in-law, Debra.

Ken is survived by his sons: Aaron and Brian; brothers: Benjamin (Sharla), Dale (Sue) and Elden; sisters: Diane (Roger) Hoggarth and Glenda, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
