Kathy Raye (Dahl) Schumacher, 51 of Jamestown, ND passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her home.
Kathy was born on June 2, 1969, the daughter of Morris and Marlene (Piatz) Dahl in Valley City ND. At a young age, Kathy moved to Jamestown with her family and attended school. Kathy met Tom Brewer and had her first son Michael Brewer. When Michael was young, she met the love of her life Shawn Schumacher, they married July 2, 1993 and had a second son, Cruz Schumacher. Kathy and Shawn bought a small farm and with their two sons, made it into a home. In 2015, the family started Schumacher Concrete. Kathy made some great friends over the years and was known as the jokester. She worked at Rock of Ages, Jamestown Hospital, Goodrich (21 years) and with the family business since 2015.
Kathy was very artistic. She practiced calligraphy, drawing, painting, writing, spending time outside rock picking and working in her woodworking shop where she spent time repurposing old furniture. Her passion was German Shepherds. She enjoyed their loyalty, personality and training them.
Kathy loved spending time with her family and friends including her JVOR family. She was the light of her family. The one who could get you to smile on a gloomy day. The one who took the pictures to capture the moment, because you would never get the moment back. The one who put everyone first before her own pain. The one who said go for it, I got your back. The one who worried, when no one was looking, because that is what moms do. She loved with all her heart. She cried with all her heart. Her pain was real, her love was real. Kathy was a wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Nothing can take away who Kathy was, she touched so many lives and she was a true blessing.
She is survived by husband Shawn Schumacher; son Michael Brewer (Ashley); brothers, John Dahl, Lee (Rhonda) Dahl, Scott Dahl, Rick (Connie) Dahl; sisters, Mellony (Jeff) O’Neill, twin sister Karen (Darren) Standen, Susie (Travis) Schlager; father-in-law, Joe Schumacher; brothers-in-laws, Brad (Stacy) Schumacher, Mark (Jen) Schumacher; sister-in-law, Nicole (John) Schumacher; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
