Joy A. Mcdonald

Joyce ""Joy"" A. McDonald, 64, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at her home in Jamestown under the care of hospice.

Joy was born August 4, 1940 in Langdon, North Dakota the daughter of Owen and Lois (Flanders) Hertzell. She grew up and attended school in Calvin, graduating from Calvin High School in 1958. On June 17, 1959 Joy married Don McDonald in Calvin. They farmed in Hannah, North Dakota from 1959 to 1983. In 1983 they moved to Munich, North Dakota where she owned and operated Joy's Day Care until 1994. In 1994 they moved to Bismarck and Joy managed the Kirkwood Park Apartments until 2004 when they moved to Jamestown where she was employed by Curves.

Joy enjoyed playing the organ and piano, sewing, camping and being with her family. She was a member of Curves and the Christian Women's Club.

Joy is survived by her husband, Don of Jamestown; her mother, Lois Hertzell, Langdon, ND; three sons, Dan (Shelly) McDonald, East Grand Forks, MN, Mark McDonald, Grand Forks, ND and Marty (Karla) McDonald, East Grand Forks, MN; one daughter, Dawn Marie (Mike) Wuori, Rolla, ND; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Phil (Della) Hertzell, Calvin, ND and two sisters, Linda (Robert) Logan, Hunter, ND and Patricia Parvey, Dillon, MT.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Randy Jaspers officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Corinthian Cemetery, Calvin, North Dakota.
