John A. Schoeler

John A Schoeler was born May 19, 1932 at Courtenay, ND, the son of Albert and Helen (Grinager) Schoeler. He attended Durham and Corinne Township schools and graduated from Courtenay High School.

He married Maurine Anderson June 20, 1954 at First United Methodist Church of Jamestown, ND. They lived on a farm near Courtenay, ND where they farmed until 1992 when they moved to Jamestown, ND. He is survived by his wife, a daughter Jody Schoeler, Jamestown, a son Terry (Julie) Courtenay, three grandchildren, Danielle Schoeler(Brent Giesler)Jamestown, Brady Schoeler(Katie Beyer)Jamestown and John J Schoeler, Courtenay, one brother Richard(Helen) Schoeler of Worland WY, a sister Marilyn(Richard) Kerber, Jamestown and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Helen Schoeler and grandparents.

He was a member of the Courtenay Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee until the church closed when he transferred to the Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. He served on the Courtenay Farmers Elevator board and was a lifetime member of the Elks. He enjoyed baseball, bowling and attending his children and grandchildren school and sporting events.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to JRMC home health/hospice.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, ND. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
