John L. Lange, 50, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at his home in Jamestown after a valiant battle with cancer.
John was born March 4, 1954 in Jamestown, the son of Leslie and Dorothy (Thompson) Lange. He was raised in Jamestown and attended school here. He worked for his father's laundry business during high school and after. In 1979 he started working for Burlington Northern as a brakeman. He worked for BN for 15 years, working in Jamestown, Minot and Glasgow, MT. John married Julie Litt March 1, 1980. He moved back to Jamestown in 1993 and worked for the Stutsman County Road Department for 6 years. John started playing in bands when he was 12 years old and continued to be in local bands for 38 years.
John enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, and he loved to sail and enjoyed being with his family and friends.
John is survived by his mother, Dorothy Lange, his wife, Julie Lange, three children, Kelly, Sean and Chelsea and one sister, Diana Lange, all of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Lange, one brother, Robert Lange, one sister, Connie Lange and his grandparents.
A celebration of his life will be Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Terry Anderson officiating.
A wake in his memory will be held at the Eagles Club in the evening.
