Joanne Rott

Joanne (Erickson) Rott was born in LaMoure County at Nortonville, ND, September 13, 1936 to Louis J. Erickson and Irene (Brooks) Erickson.
After graduating from Jamestown High School in 1954, she started working as a bookkeeper then as a teller at James River National Bank until the end of December 1958.
Joanne married Eugene Rott on June 16, 1957. They lived in Jamestown until 1962, where they built the family farm southwest of Jamestown. Joanne and Eugene raised their 3 children Kelly Rott, Betty Jo Hoeppner and Julie Kresel on the family farm.
Joanne joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in April 1960, becoming the Local Auxiliary President in 1969. She became Dakota State President in 1981, after serving in various National offices from 1983 to 1986, she became Grand Auxiliary President of the FOE with Alzheimer Research as her chosen national charity. Joanne was inducted in the Grand Auxiliary Hall of Fame in 1990, and the Dakota State Hall of Fame in 1991.
Survivors include her husband Eugene; son Kelly (Cindy) Rott; daughters, Betty Jo (Mike Boelke) Hoeppner and Julie (Alan Hughes) Kresel; grandchildren Cassandra Rott, Kalin Kresel, Andrew Rott, Amanda Kresel and Samantha Hoeppner; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Harley Hoeppner; adopted grandchildren, Annika and Shaylee Hughes.
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Louis J. & Irene Erickson, two sisters, Betty Erickson, Bonnie (Frank) Hoffman and her grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to be given to Home on the Range at 16351 I-94, Sentinel Butte, ND 58654.

Memorial Service: 1:30 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Elmo Herman, officiating.
Family Receiving Friends: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 30 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery.
