James E. Reidburn, 82, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, October 10, 2003 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown. James was born August 24, 1921 on the Reidburn farm southeast of Lisbon, ND the son of Edward R. and Lulu F. (Murray) Reidburn. He attended rural school one mile east of Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School. James enlisted in the US Army at Ft. Snelling, MN on April 8, 1942 in the 95th Division Infantry, 377 Regamin, Company C and Service Company. He was discharged on November 21, 1945. James married Phyllis Anderson in August 1946. He returned home to live in Lisbon until 1965 when he moved to Jamestown. James worked as a Hatchery Assistant for the North Dakota Game & Fish Department in Lisbon and Jamestown for a total of 35 years. He married Bertha Hofmann in 1970. They lived at Spiritwood Lake, ND and he retired in 1987.
James was a life member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown where he was a deacon for 6 years.
James is survived by four sons, James A. (Linda) Reidburn, Phoenix, AZ, Steven (Margaret) Reidburn, Jamestown, Dana (Peggy) Reidburn, Jamestown and Richard ""Short"" (Eileen) Reidburn of Jamestown; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 1 step great grandchild; special friend, Bertha Schmidt of Jamestown; two sisters, Florence Mae Giebel of Minneapolis, MN and Dorothy Capps, Sun City, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Hoffmann; parents; and one son, Jack.
Funeral Service: 11:00AM Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown with Rev. David Thompson officiating.
Visitation: 9:00AM to 9:00PM Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
