James Kokott

James Kokott, 85, Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Hi-Acre Manor, Jamestown, ND.
James Edward Kokott was born September 4, 1920 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Carl and Clara (Wojick) Kokott. He grew up on a farm and attended the Gray Township School. James entered the U.S. Navy on November 21, 1942 and served with the 7th Fleet in the South Pacific. Following his discharge on January 13, 1946, he returned to Jamestown, ND. Jim married Margaret Williams on September 23, 1947. She died on July 10, 1975. He married Marjorie Dwelle on May 26, 1978. He worked as a sales representative for Mellands Inc. of Jamestown and Hird and Sons of Edgeley and Jamestown. He retired in 1984.
James was a member of The Basilica of St James, Jamestown Elks Lodge, America Legion Post and the VFW. He enjoyed camping, music and telling jokes.
Survivors include his wife; 3 daughters: Linda Kokott, Brooklyn Park, MN; Angie Kokott, Jamestown, ND; Theresa Wienke, New Hope, MN; 2 sons: James Jr. Tallahassee, FL; Timothy, New York City, NY; 2 stepsons: Timothy (Julie) Dwelle and Ronald (Deb) Dwelle, both of Jamestown, ND; 2 step-daughters: Janice (Dave) Odin and Nancy (Tim) Dabill, both of Jamestown, ND; 10 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Delores (Melvin) Noecker, Jamestown, ND; Bernice (Lester) Young), Littleton, CO; a sister-in-law, Pat Kokott, St. Paul, MN; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Kokott, Des Moines, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; 3 sons, Scott, Mark and John; 2 brothers, Leonard and Lyle and a sister, Eileen.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at The Basilica Of St. James, Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service - 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
