James Larry Askew

November 1, 1943 — December 28, 2021

No words can adequately describe James, whom everyone knew as a man of character, strength, honesty and integrity. A well-loved man, he enjoyed meeting new people and a good conversation.

The simplest pleasures in life, such as his pets, fishing, hunting, nature-watching out the patio door, mowing the lawn, gardening, and cooking brought the greatest joy to James. He could often be found tinkering with something. He could seemingly build or repair anything.

Over his life he shared many relationships: Son, Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, Grandfather Great-Grandfather, Friend, Colleague and US Army Veteran.

He will be deeply missed by family and all who knew him.

Family and friends will gather at Eddy Funeral Home, 621 First Avenue South, Jamestown, North Dakota on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11am to 2pm.

A burial service will be held at the Highland Home Cemetery, 19th Street NW, Jamestown, North Dakota on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 2pm.

While flowers are welcome, the family would prefer donations made in lieu of flowers.

A donation to Paws & Claws Rescue, 2949 MN-371, Hackensack, MN 56453

Tel: 218-675-7297 / Web: pawsandclawsrr.org  will be made to honor James and his love of animals. Thanks to private donation the family will also purchase a memorial brick in his honor.

A collection will be taken at the service on January 10, 2022. To make a direct memorial contribution please mention his name when calling the facility or add “In Loving Memory of James Larry Askew” to the Special Instructions to P+C” if using the website.
