Irene Patzner

Irene Patzner, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Jamestown Hospital.

Irene Schumacher was born October 17, 1926 on a farm in Kidder County, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Aichele) Schumacher. On November 17, 1946 Irene married Elvin Patzner and they lived on the family farm near Robinson. Irene was a hard-working lady and worked side by side with Elvin on the farm. She also milked cows for many other farmers, helping in any way she could.

Irene lived the past five years in Jamestown, four years in Roseadele, and one year at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center.

Irene was a wonderful cook and a great housekeeper. She loved all animals, especially horses and dogs. She enjoyed dancing, music, playing cards and visiting with her friends.

Irene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Elvin Patzner, Jamestown; two sons, Calvin Patzner, Jamestown and Melvin Patzner, Carrington, ND; one sister, Donna Berg, Bismarck, ND; one brother, Alvin (Lorraine) Schumacher, Jamestown; brother-in-law, Robert Patzner, Minot, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alma Remmick.
