Irene Flemmer

Irene E. Flemmer, 80, Jamestown, ND, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from cancer at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Irene Elizabeth Pfenning was born March 3, 1925 north of Beulah, North Dakota the daughter of Fred and Christina (Mettler ) Pfenning. She received her education in the Beulah schools. Irene married Andrew Flemmer on October 26, 1948 in Beulah. They farmed near Beulah until they moved to Jamestown in 1974. Irene had various cleaning jobs including taking care of her church, Immanuel Lutheran in Jamestown. Andrew passed away February 26, 1980.

Irene was a very good cook. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and the camping trips with her family to Medora and South Dakota.

Irene is survived by four children: Donnie Flemmer, Fargo, ND; Darlene Raeser, Beulah; Clarence Flemmer, Stanton, ND and Mary Ann (Steve) Eckman, Jamestown, seven grandchildren; Jason Raesor, Pam Raesor, Josh Flemmer, Kyle Flemmer, Daniel Eckman, Isaiah Eckman and Rhiannon Eckman; two great-grandchildren, Braiden and Dane Foss; three sisters, Elma Lapp, Bismarck, Bertha Wolf, Beulah and Ardella Weigum, Sun City, AZ and one brother, Walter Pfenning, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Gary Flemmer.

A special thanks to all our family and friends who visited and sent cards to mom and her children. The support and care was deeply appreciated by all of Irene's family.

We would also like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Jamestown Hospital for their kind care of our mother while she was a patient there and to Innovis Hospital 5th floor nurses and CNA staff for taking such good care of our mom during the last few weeks of her life.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Steve Berntson officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
