Hulda Ketterling

Hulda Esther Ketterling, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Hulda Esther Iszler was born January 20, 1914 at Danzig, ND, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Zimmerman) Iszler. She grew up and attended school in the Danzig area. She married Alvin Reinhold Ketterling on October 16, 1932 at Danzig. They farmed in the Danzig area until 1935, when they moved to a farm near Fullerton, ND and farmed there until 1962, when they then moved to Jamestown. Hulda worked at Jamestown College as a cook for several years.

Hulda's church and family were very important to her. After Alvin's death she traveled to each of her childen's homes during the winter months. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and playing games and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Hulda is survived by three sons; Roman (Judy) Ketterling, Conrad, MT, Richard (Beth) Ketterling, St. Michael, MN and Kenneth (Chris) Ketterling, Stockton, CA; two daughters, Priscilla Allen, Billings, MT and Lorraine (Paul) Feser, Bowling Green, KY; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; eight brothers; four sisters; a son-in-law, Web Allen; a daughter-in-law, Mary Hockert Ketterling and one grandson, Christopher Ross Allen.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, April 23, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Wayne Bangs officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
