Hazel Fisher

Hazel A. Fisher, 85, Jamestown, ND died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Hazel Olson was born May 20, 1928 to Martin and Hanna (Johnson) Olson in Estherville, Iowa. At the age of 3 months, she was taken to Omaha, Nebraska to live with her aunt and uncle, Thea and William Summers. When she was 4 years old, her uncle passed away and she was taken back to Iowa to her parents to live along with her four brothers and three sisters. She was sent to another aunt and uncle and after a short while she was sent back to her folks again. She was sent to Minnesota to live with some friends of her parents where one of her sisters was already living. She attended school in Minnesota. Hazel worked on a farm for a while and later at a canning factory in Farimont, MN.

Hazel married Arnold Wolle in 1950 and together they had four children. She worked in several cafes and a printing house where several daily papers were published. In 1976 she left Minnesota and moved to North Dakota. She worked briefly for the Ramada Inn and was then employed for 11 years at the ND State Hospital. Hazel married Lynn Fisher on August 30, 1985.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Lynn, Jamestown; three children; Joleyn Runck, Lamberton, MN, Dorinda Karls, Lucan, MN and Jeffery Wolle, Jenkins, MN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; step children, Susan Heimann, Dale (Judy) Fisher, Sandy (Paul) Azure, Doug Fisher, Sharla (Doug) Gahner, Sheila Michel (Mark Kruger); 13 step grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith; and one grandson, Adam Karls.
