Harry Drenth, 90, of Edgeley, ND, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.
Harry Drenth was on February 9, 1923 in Minnesota, the son of Henry and Agda (Ogren) Drenth. At a young age, Harry moved with his family to Edgeley where he received his education. He entered the US Navy on October 6, 1943 and served during WWII. Upon his discharge on March 16, 1946, Harry worked as a contractor, eventually for Northern Improvement, Fargo. He also was a fireman for the Edgeley Fire Dept. and a member of the Vets. Harry played baseball, then fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the birds.
Harry is survived by his five children, Charles (Laurel) Drenth, LaMoure, ND; Garry Drenth, Edgeley, ND; David (Sherilyn) Drenth, Jamestown, ND; Steven (Cindy) Drenth, Grand Rapids, MI; Richard (Betty) Drenth, Moses Lake, WA; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Donald, and a brother in infancy.
Funeral - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, with Pastor Joddy Meidinger officiating.
Visitation - One hour before the service at the church.
Interment - Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND, at a later date.
