Hans Brandau, 89, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.

Hans Brandau was born October 29, 1920 in Lensahn, Germany the son of Michael and Emma Brandau. He lived in Kellenhusen, Germany. He served in the German Army during WWII and was taken prisoner in Russia and was transported to the United States. After the war, he remained in the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 1967. He lived for many years in Great Falls, MT where he worked as a barber. He retired in 1964. Hans enjoyed gardening and played the accordion, harmonica and concertina.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae, Polson, MT; 2 children, Heidi (Robert) Szatkowski, Oak Grove, MO; Tom (Sue) Brandau, Jamestown, ND; a granddaughter, Vanessa (Devon) Spiewak and 2 sisters who live in Germany.

Memorial Service - 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
