Glen Edward McClean, 60, Spiritwood, North Dakota, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Glen was born February 10, 1950 in Jamestown, the son of George and Rosalie (Thexton) McClean. He attended and graduated from Montpelier High School, Montpelier, ND, in 1969. He attended college at Denver Automotive in Denver, Colorado. Upon his return to North Dakota he worked at Firestone in Jamestown and Conley Implement in Spiritwood. He served in the National Guard Unit in Jamestown. Glen married Joyce Thompson on September 4, 1970 in Kathryn, ND. In 1975, Glen started farming in the Spiritwood area and continued until his death.
Glen was a Brimer Township clerk for many years. He enjoyed ice fishing, NASCAR racing and his passion was spending time with his grandchildren.
Glen is survived by his wife, Joyce, Spiritwood, ND; five children and 21 grandchildren: Mark (Nellie) McClean of Wimbledon, ND and their children, Tyler, Cody, Macee & Lexi McClean and Courtney, Amanda, Ashley & Devin Schuldheisz; Marie (Chad) Haskin of Fargo, ND with their children, Samantha and Heather; Matt (Dalonna) McClean of Wimbledon, with their children, Hunter, Gage and Brayden McClean and Jacob Fischer; Mandi (Pat ) Job of Spiritwood, with their children, Troy, Ryan and Brittnie Rudolph and Ethan Job; Melonie (Jay) Roemmich of Spiritwood, with their children, Anna, Zayden and Karsyn; his mother, Rosalie McClean, Jamestown; two sisters, Bertha (Chad) Nielsen, Jamestown and Gayle (Mike) Rodin, Marion, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George.
