Gladys Ley, 96, Jamestown, ND passed away Sunday, November 23 2025 at JRMC, Jamestown, ND.

Gladys Sukut was born March 25, 1929 on a farm north of Lehr, ND to Gottlob and Hulda (Radke) Sukut. Gladys attended rural school in Logan County. In 1948 she moved with her parents to a farm near Pingree, ND. Gladys married Gottlieb Ley in October of 1949. They farmed by Woodworth, ND until 1969 when they moved to a farm near Jamestown. Gottlieb died May 21, 1997.

Gladys enjoyed gardening, sewing and making quilts. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Gladys was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.

Gladys is survived by one son Eugene Ley, Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren Travis, Shawn and LaCosta; two brothers Earl Sukut, Cascade, MT, Garry Sukut, Orlando,FL ; two sisters Marlys Sukut, Denver, CO; and Bonnie (Walter) Smith, Richardson, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant daughter, daughter-in-law Julie,brothers Howard, Allan and LeRoy and sisters Geraldine, Frances, Sharon, Lillian.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Stephanie Gossett officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
