Gerhardt “Gary” Lange passed away Sunday, December 21st at Essentia Hospital in Fargo. He was born in Jamestown, ND and grew up in the Eldridge/Jamestown area. He went to school in Jamestown and graduated in 1961. After high school he farmed near Eldridge, first with his father and then with his son, Shawn. On February 8, 1964 he married Gayl Gilbertson. They lived on the family farm near Eldridge until moving into Jamestown in 1998.

Gerhardt enjoyed flowers, gardening, yard work, farming, fishing and hunting. He always loved having family gatherings and watching the grandkids and great grandkids as they grew. He loved to sit outside in the summer and listen to his oldies music.

He is survived by his wife, Gayl; son Shawn (April); daughter, Shannon (Rob) Cebula; son Travis (Marcella). Grandchildren Brynne (Brock) Burkett; Jadee (Jayden) Hesch; Cody Lange; Morgan, Nathaniel (Brianna); & Alex Cebula; Kellen, Rylee and Jackson Lange. Great grandchildren Braxton, Brodin and BrandiLyn Burkett; Reagan and Jamison Hesch. Sisters-in-law Karen Sinkie, Miller, SD and Mary (Richard) Hastings, Britton SD.

Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Olga Lange; sister, Ardena Lange; in-laws Milton and Gladys Gilbertson; and nephew, Christopher Hastings.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber officiating. Gary’s service will be livestreamed on his obituary page @eddyfuneralhome.com.
