Gerald Hofmann, 64, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Gerald "Jerry" Rueben Hofmann was born March 21, 1944 in Jamestown, ND the son of John and Leah (Obenauer) Hofmann. He was raised and attended school in Medina, ND. After his schooling, he worked for Wall Trucking in Medina. On December 21, 1964, he married Juanita Stoppleworth in Jamestown, ND and they made their home in Medina. In 1969, they moved to Jamestown, ND where Jerry worked for Duratech and Vining Oil as a driver.
Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends. He enjoyed playing Pinochle and Rummy with his wife, even when he lost. Jerry was a joker and someone who was always there to help out.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters: Cindy (Darrel) Goodroad, Jamestown, ND; Anita (Todd) Trautman, Cleveland, ND and 5 grandchildren: Nathan, Travis, Tyler, Leah and Lindsey; 6 siblings: Della Frodge, Rodondo Beach, CA; Delora Ben, Eldridge, ND; Oscar (Ida) Hofmann, Medina, ND; Darlene (Lyman) Keim, Jamestown, ND; Sharon Schnieder, Mandan, ND and Elmer Hofmann, Mandan, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Theodore Gerald; a sister, Gladys Vanvreet; 7 brothers-in-law: Lee Frodge, John Ben, Terry Buck, Gordon Ova Charles Koenig, Dennis Stoppleworth, Dick Doll and a sister-in-law, Betty Hofmann.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND
Prayer service - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel an 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday
Interment - 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
