Gene Nelson

November 17, 1952 — December 1, 2020

Gene W. Nelson was born November 17, 1952, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND, the son of Louis C. and Dorothy (Goodrich) Nelson. He started first grade at Edgeley School and graduated in 1970. Gene enrolled at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND in the fall of 1970. He enlisted in the Air Force on June 21, 1971 at Fargo, ND and spent two years in Germany at Hahn Air Force Base. Gene did extensive traveling while in Europe and returned on June 13, 1974. He did temporary duty in Hawaii and was honorably discharged as Sgt.

Gene moved to Denver, CO where his home has been since. He attended Colorado Aero Tech, graduating April 5, 1983.

Gene is survived by his brother, Howard (Charlotte) Nelson, Carrington, ND; sister-in-law, LaVerne Nelson, Edgeley, ND; nephews, Bryan, Clark Summit, PA and Jody, Dardanelle, AR, ND; nieces, Dana (Brad) Parkhouse, Casselton, ND and Kay (Gerrard) Retzer, Long Lake, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Loren.

Private Family Funeral Service : 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home, Edgeley, ND.

Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
