Gail Gulkin

Gail K. Gulkin, 71, of Jamestown, ND, passed away at her home under hospice care Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2025.

Gail K. Schlaht was born December 17, 1953, at the Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown the daughter of Rueben and Arleen (Thornton) Schlaht. She was raised on the family dairy farm south of Cleveland, ND where she grew up milking cows and combining crops. Gail attended Cleveland grammar school and high school, later going to Wahpeton State School of Science, completing the General Office Curriculum.

Gail married Lynn Rudolph in June 1976 and had two sons, Michael and Brian. They later divorced and she married Robert Gulkin in November, 1986.

Gail worked at Lefevre Sales from August 1974 through March 1981. She then started as receptionist at the South Central Human Service Center in Jamestown. Gail began as a receptionist but later did accounts payable for the agency. It was at the Human Services Center where she and Bob met and they opened Consultation and Psychological Services in 1992. In that capacity, she served as Office Manager, taking care of insurance, general bookkeeping and typing. That business changed in 2004 when Bob accepted a full-time position at the Fargo VA Hospital. Gail continued to do insurance billing and general bookkeeping for the limited private practice, which continued through December 31, 2023.

Gail is survived by her husband, Bob; sons Michael and Brian (Lindsay) with grandsons, Brandon, Breidan and Landon; brothers, Larry (Marty) in Woodland, NA, Dean (Cindy) in Cleveland, and Dennis (Susan) in Lexington, NC; and sister, Karen Micek in Westchester, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
