Frieda Pauline Eissinger

Frieda Pauline Eissinger, 99, of Medina ND, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Frieda Martel was born May 27, 1914 in Medina ND to Christ and Elizabeth (Klein) Martel. She attended St. Paul Township Country School. Frieda married Gust Bitterman in 1938. She worked at JC Penney?s for ten years until becoming a mother. In 1977, Gust Bitterman died and in 1982 Frieda married Gus Eissinger.

Frieda was a Sunday School teacher, a member of ELC Women and Medina Homemaker Club as well as the President of Medina Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, traveling and singing in the church and community choirs. Frieda is survived by two daughters, Betty Bitterman and Sheila Bitterman (Scottsdale, AZ), a step-daughter, Gloria Renschler (Anchorage, AK); a step-son, Stan Eissinger (Gilbert, AZ) and two sisters, Lurene Jackson and Arlene Kemp (Minneapolis, MN).

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 19th at the Medina English Lutheran Church, followed by the burial at the Medina Cemetery There will be Visitation (1-8 pm) and a Prayer Service (4 pm) at Eddy Funeral Home on Sunday, May 18th.
