Evelyn Jean Dunwoody, 85, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the home of her private duty nurse and daughter, Sherry Schwind in Glendale Arizona.

Evelyn Jean Zaun was born September 9, 1935 in Valley City the daughter of George and Edna (Tooley) Zaun. Due to the loss of her mother at age 6, she and her sisters lived in various locations with family members, throughout their childhood.

Evelyn married Bernard B. Dunwoody in Jamestown on October 10, 1954. They made their home on a farm in the Edmunds/Melville area.

Evelyn was active in many organizations and had many interests. Was an EMT/Driver with Carrington Ambulance for many years, former acting Postmistress and an avid gardener. It is hoped her many plantings will be enjoyed by future generations.

Family was very important to Evelyn. She is survived by daughter, Tammy (Barry) Michaelson; son, Dwight Dunwoody; daughter, Sherry Schwind; daughter, Jackie (Clark) Haskell; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Jeff Jr., Emmy, Ashten, Krista, Chase, Colton, and Jaden; six great-grandchildren, Ava Noah, Ethan, River, Henry and Mia and sister Carol.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Bernard, brothers; Donald, Lyle and Gary and sisters; Janice and Joyce Kay.

A Celebration of Life will take place and announced at a later date. A Memorial tree will be planted in her remembrance.

Interment; Edmunds Cemetery, Edmunds, North Dakota
