Eva Widmer, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.

Eva Schock was born March 28, 1923 on the family farm, located 9 miles north of Lehr, ND. She was the daughter of Phillip and Katherina (Obenauer) Schock. She attended school at Lautt School District.

Eva married Royal Widmer on July 20, 1945 in Lehr EUB parsonage. They made their home 2 miles northeast of the family farm. In October 1959 they moved to Jamestown, where she was employed at Ebertz Café. Later she was employed at Trinity Hospital and Central Dakota Nursing Home as a housekeeper. She was employed at Jamestown Hospital for 27 years until her retirement in 1992.

Eva enjoyed doing volunteer work at her church, Trinity Lutheran. She enjoyed having her children and grandchildren visit.

Eva is survived by two daughters, twins, Janet (Dennis) O'Brien, Marion, IA and Joan (William) Kukrall, Aberdeen, SD; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal; daughter, Marlys; son, Randy; parents; three sisters, Caroline, Martha, and Katie; and three brothers, Emanuel, Johnny and William.
