Eunice Sveum

Eunice Sveum, 87, of Jamestown, ND, passed away peacefully June 10, 2017 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Eunice Deloris Jelsing was born on February 4, 1930, in Berwick, ND, the daughter of John and Anna (Dahl) Jelsing. She spent the early years of her life on the family farm south of Berwick. She attended and graduated from Berwick High School and later continued her education at Minot Business College.

Eunice married Archie Sveum October 21, 1951 at Berwick Lutheran Church in Berwick, ND. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in October of 2016. They lived in Rugby for a number of years where Eunice was employed at the local JC Penney store. In 1961 the family moved to Jamestown, ND and permanently made their home. Eunice worked for a number of years at Sears, Jamestown National Bank, and Coast to Coast. She later became the assistant manager at the Jamestown Civic Center until retirement. She loved her time spent at the Civic Center and the many friends she made there.

Eunice enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her flowers. She loved to be with her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed watching their sporting events. She loved Blue Jay and Jimmie basketball as well as the Minnesota Twins. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was genuinely devoted to her family and friends. Eunice will be missed dearly.

Eunice is survived by her husband Archie, Jamestown, ND; three sons; Curt (Margaret) Sveum Fargo, ND, Roger Sveum of Orlando, FL, and Jay Sveum of Jamestown, ND; Six grandchildren, Molly, Kelly (Josh) Collins, John, Matthew, Lexi, and Christopher; Two greatgrandchildren, Lucas and Layla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and daughter in law, Mary Sveum.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown ND with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 13, at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 13, at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Persilla Watts, Rugby ND.
