Eulalia E. Evert, 89, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.
Eulalia Elizabeth Evert was born February 8, 1924 in Pamona View Township near Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Wesley and Viola (Winkowitsch) Evert. She attended first grade in Edgeley and then moved with her parents to Wellsburg, Iowa in 1931. In 1936 she moved with her parents to Norcross, MN. She finished her grade school in country schools and attended Tintah, MN high school her first three years. She moved with her parents to Wheaton, MN, where she graduated in 1944. Eulalia attended one year of Business College at St. Cloud, MN, from the fall of 1944 to the fall of 1945, when she went to work at the American Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Alexandria, MN. She returned to Edgeley in the fall of 1946. She was called back twice to Alexandria to help out at the Laundry and helped on the farm until she began work at J. C. Penney Co. in Jamestown, in March of 1948. She worked there as a Cashier until December of 1961. On January 2, 1962 she began work as a bookkeeper/teller at First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Jamestown, later becoming Assistant Secretary, later Treasurer and then Assistant Secretary. First Federal merged with Metropolitan Federal Savings & Loan Association of Fargo in March of 1982. She retired from there in November of 1985.
Eulalia was a member of Jamestown Evangelical Church where she held several offices and was involved in several missionary organizations.
Eulalia is survived by many cousins and special friends, Agnes Austin, Jane Kamletz and Harold and Shirley Sahr and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Harold, (one month old); and several aunts and uncles.
