Eugene "Gene" Schapp

Eugene Dale Schapp, 88, Jamestown, ND passed away Saturday morning, November 16, 2019 at Ave Maria Village surrounded by his loving family.

Eugene was born February 15, 1931 at Bantry, ND to Henry and Louise (Kraise) Schapp. He received his education in the Bantry School. Gene was employed at various elevators and retired from the Enderlin Sunflower Plant in June of 1991.

Gene loved camping, gardening and hunting. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Men of Trinity and the Elks.

He is survived by daughters Vicki Schindele, Lakota, ND, Julie (Darrell) Diede, West Fargo, ND; sons Rickie (Janet), Bismarck, ND, Myron (Sherry), Fargo, ND; daughter Karla Pepple (Duane Peiler), Grand Forks, ND; 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend and companion Ardell Quigley. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Kristi Weber and Pastor Susan Haukaas officiating. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
