Esther Steffan

Esther Steffan, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, December 6, 2004 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Esther Weidler was born February 28, 1915 in Howard, South Dakota, the youngest of the eleven children of Fred and Barbara (Eicher) Weidler, Sr. She moved with her family in 1920 to a farm south of Velva, ND. On February 8, 1943 Esther married Fred Steffan in Billings, Montana. They resided in Sawyer, ND until 1952 when they moved to Jamestown. Fred passed away in 1973.

Esther enjoyed walking, reading, crossword puzzles and especially her grandchildren. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown.

Esther is survived by three daughters: Donna (Edwin) Johnson, Phyllis (Dennis) Hawes and Pat (Doug) Hjelmhaug, all of San Jose, CA; three sons: Larry (Sharon) Steffan, Mandan, ND, Tom (Patti) Steffan, Jamestown and Mike (Kim) Steffan, Ray, ND; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Randy Jaspers officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 10, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
