Ernie Bjerke

Ernest (Ernie) Bjerke, 83, of Jamestown died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Eventide in Jamestown.
Ernie was born June 5, 1933 in the Leeds and Churches Ferry area in North Dakota the son of Ole and Edith (Marlene) Bjerke. Ernie graduated from Lake Ibsen country school. He enlisted in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He married Marjorie DeBoer on February 23, 1954 in Devils Lake, ND.
He moved to Jamestown in 1972 and owned and operated Ernie's sewing machine business for many years.
He was an expert carpenter and ran his own business for many years, he also loved the outdoors and all that nature stood for.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Jamestown; son, Dale (Marie) Bjerke, daughters, Sherri (Dennis) Weixel, Wanda (Rod) Olson, all of Jamestown, and Melissa Murray, Fargo; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Weber; two brothers Clifford and Darrel. He was preceded in death by parents, two sisters and one brother.
Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, June 5, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Chapel. Burial will be 3:00 PM, Monday at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
