Ella Rudolph, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Triumph Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ella Heller was born May 12, 1919 near Fredonia, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Emma (Weispfenning) Heller. In 1925 she moved, with her family, to a farm northeast of Gackle, where she grew up and helped on the farm. Ella graduated from Bismarck High School and worked at several restaurants as a waitress. She married Mat Rudolph on September 28, 1941. They farmed southwest of Streeter, ND. In 1946 they moved to a farm southeast of Montpelier, ND. In 1964 they retired from farming and moved into Jamestown. Mat died on September 20, 2002.

She liked to work with plastic canvas and made many afghans.

Ella is survived by three sons, DeLayne (Diana) Rudolph, Seattle, WA, Randy Rudolph, Jamestown, and Lynn (Tracy) Rudolph, St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren, Mat, Krista, Tony, Wendy, Mike, Brian and Emma; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Doug) Turnquist, Jacksonville, FL and Helen (Bob) Dancoine, Roseville, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Emanuel, Albert and Harold Heller; four sisters, Anna Eckman, Martha Morgan, Hulda Hehn, and Lenora Horning; and one grandchild, Jennifer Rudolph.
