Elizabeth Wegenast, 96, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Edgeley, ND, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND.
Elizabeth Taszarek was born July 19, 1909 at Ray Township, near Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Ignacy and Marianna (Procknaik) Taszarek. She was raised on the family farm in Ray Township and attended the township school. She helped out on the family farm until her marriage to Gottlieb Wegenast on September 27, 1938 at the Transfiguration Catholic Church Rectory. They settled on a farm in Ray Township near Edgeley, ND where they lived and farmed until Gottlieb's death on June 17, 1973. In 1973, Elizabeth moved into Edgeley where she worked at a dress shop.
Elizabeth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley and belonged to the Zion Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She loved to travel with the Senior Citizens, and loved having coffee with friends at 3:00 p.m. every Sunday.
Survivors include 3 children: Gary (Genevieve) Wegenast, Edgeley, ND; Robert (Judith) Wegenast, Harwood, ND; LeRoy (Leanne) Wegenast, Jamestown, ND; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Hilda Nordley; Dolly Taszarek; Sis Schlosser; a brother-in-law, Clarence Wegenast, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter; a daughter-in-law, Neva Kelder Wegenast; 5 brothers: Mike, Peter, Ted, Frank, Joe; and 2 sisters: Katherine Cisinski and Frances Garaczkowski.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2005 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Visitation - 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2005 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday
Interment - Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
