Eleanor M. Thompson, 78, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, April 20, 2009 at her home.

Eleanor Fennern was born July 10, 1930 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Herman and Ella Maria Sophia (Schweim) Fennern. She was raised in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. She started work as a receptionist at the DePuy-Sorkness Clinic. She also worked as a secretary for the Equity Creamery. On September 11, 1954 Eleanor married Robert ""Bob"" Thompson in Jamestown. They made their first home in Wimbledon, ND. Together they owned and operated Thompson Motor Home Sales. Bob died February 28, 2000.

Eleanor was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Jamestown where she was the organist for many years. She enjoyed finding and reading old books, feeding the birds and squirrels and she especially loved her pets.

Eleanor is survived by two sisters, Helen Stelter and Victoria Fennern, both of Mankato, MN; one brother, Gilbert H. (Dynella) Fennern, Forsyth, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Irene Fennern and a stillborn sister.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, April 24, 2009 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Eric Libby officiating.

No visitation.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
