Eleanor S. Skattum

Eleanor Skattum, 89, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.
Eleanor Sophie Carlson was born on February 6, 1924, in Stutsman County, ND, the daughter of Emil G. and Elvira Sophie (Erickson) Carlson. She attended country schools in the Sydney, ND area and grew up on the family farm. Eleanor married Otto Skattum in July 1944 in Jamestown. They made their home on a farm near Alfred, ND until 1955 when Eleanor's father became ill and she returned to care for him until his death. She and Otto purchased a farm near Buchanan where they raised small grains, milked cows, and sold cream. Eleanor worked very hard on the farm loved horses and gardening. Otto died in March 1976 and she continued to live on the farm.
Eleanor is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Elmer; and three sisters, Ellen Nickerson, Esther Skattum, and Edith Keske.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
