Elden E. Englund, born July 31, 1939, in Lakota, ND to Dorthea and Elmer Chester Englund. Elden passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness. Elden spent his early years in Petersburg, ND, before moving to Fargo, where he graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1957.

In March 1962, Elden married the love of his life, Mary Solseng, beginning a partnership filled with devotion and mutual support. Shortly after, Elden proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, stationed in Colorado, Virginia, Texas, and Germany.

After his military service, Elden worked for Shultz and Lindsey Construction in Colorado and Fargo. In 1974, he began his career with Newman Signs in Jamestown, ND, where he spent the remainder of his professional life, earning the respect and friendship of colleagues and community members alike.

Elden’s love for horses was a defining part of his life. He found great joy riding his horses in the beautiful Badlands of North Dakota, cherishing the peace and adventure the landscape offered. Elden and Mary also shared a passion for traveling and socializing with friends, creating cherished memories together throughout the years.

Elden is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his son, Jim (Angie) Englund; his daughter, Jodi (John) Anfinrud; and cherished grandchildren: Levi, Cassie, Daniel, Stener, Hannah and Annika; and special cousin Bev Cook. He was a loving husband and father, remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for his family.

Elden’s life was marked by integrity, generosity, and a gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating. Interment at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery will take place in the spring.
