Elaine Hendrix

Elaine Hendrix, 83, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hastings, NE.
Elaine Stoner was born February 10, 1922 in Lead, SD, the daughter of Herman and Ella (Sterner) Stoner. She was raised and attended schools in Detroit, MI and Lead, SD, where she graduated in 1940. Following her high school graduation, she attended business college in Lead, SD for 2 years. On August 17, 1941, she married Lyle Hendrix in Lead, SD. They moved to Carthage, SD in 1952 where they lived until 1972, when they moved to Jamestown, ND. Elaine was a homemaker for many years and also worked as a bookkeeper for Easy Sales Manufacturing and for the State Hospital Credit Union until she retired.
Elaine was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, Rebecca Circle and Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and crocheting. She was an avid volunteer at Jamestown Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her husband; 2 sons: Ron (Janie) Hendrix, Garretson, SD; Russ (Sharon) Hendrix, Pierre, SD; 3 daughters: Barb (Dale) Bauer, Sioux Falls, SD; Nancy (Kevin) Miller, Jamestown, ND; Trude (Robert) Hendrickson, Fargo, ND; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Howard Stoner, Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, a sister-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral Service - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dick Boyd officiating.
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Interment - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
