Edith Kudrna, 78, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Edith Privratsky was born September 28, 1932, in Dickinson, ND, the daughter of Anton and Cecelia (Splichal) Privratsky. She grew up and attended South Heart School in Stark County. Edith married Alois "Al" Kudrna on January 11, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, South Heart, ND. They lived in Dickinson and Valley City, ND until 1962 when they moved to Jamestown. She worked for Stanley Home Products as a Division Director, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service, but continued to work as a customer representative.

Edith was a member of St. James Basilica, St. James Tabernacle Society, American Legion and Auxiliary, and Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary, all of Jamestown.

She treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and enjoyed sewing and planting flowers.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Brian) Smith, Jamestown; son, Brian (Jill) Kudrna, Savage, MN; four grandchildren, Justin (Cassandra) Smith, Mandan, ND, Briana (Shaun) Schafer, Jamestown, Kayla and Jack Kudrna, Savage, MN; great-granddaughter, Peighton Smith, Mandan, ND; three sisters, Millie (Don) Kudrna, South Heart, ND, Gladys (Henry) Rambousek, South Heart, ND, and Marlene (Stanley) Steffan, Dickinson, ND; six brothers, Laudie (Dorothy), Albany, OR, Edwin (Clementine), Dickinson, ND, Tony (Jean) Amity, OR, David (Mary), Maricota, AZ, Victor (Elsie), Yuma, AZ, and Jerry (Shirley), New Prague, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and an infant brother.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00am, Friday, June 17, 2011 St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND.

Visitation: 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, June, 16, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.

Rosary Service: 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:30 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel. Jamestown, ND.

Interment: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
