Dorothy ""Dora"" Fischer Koenig, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Dorothy ""Dora"" Jung was born August 25, 1912 in Hosmer, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine (Bieber) Jung. She attended Jamestown schools until the 8th grade, and at the age of 68 she received her G.E.D. Dorothy married Lyle Fischer in 1937. She worked as a retail sales clerk for the W.W. Woolworth Co. for 25 years and later for the White Drug Co. from which she retired. In 1958 she married Ralph Koenig.

Dorothy was baptized as an infant and belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church all her life. She was active in the Dorcas Circle and the Quilting club at church, she was also a member of the Jamestown Bowling Association, a 40 year member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, bowling and dancing.

Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Carol (Harvey) Yoakum, Longmont, CO; Mary Jo (Arthur) Hiller, Mankato, MN and Marlis Jean (Bob) Otterstrom, Northbranch, MN, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one sister, Katherine Merrill, Hood River, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lyle and Ralph, a daughter, Diann Massine and three brothers, Jacob, Philip and Reinhold.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Meals on Wheels.
