Dorothy L. Dunn, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.
Dorothy L. Berg was born October 7, 1919 in Kensal, North Dakota the daughter of George E. and Belle (Wilson) Berg. She graduated from Courtenay High School and attended Valley City State College and received her teacher's certificate. She taught country school at Ashlund Township for 2 years. Dorothy married Bert Dunn on June 10, 1941.
She was a volunteer at the ND State Hospital for many years, a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Leader, member of the Franklin School PTA, DAR, Eastern Star and a Senior Citizens Board member when the board was first organized. She enjoyed baking and playing cards.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Bert of Jamestown, a son, David (Mary) Dunn, Minnetonka, MN, two daughters, Judi (Neil) Baker, Jamestown and Cheryl (Jim) Gordon, Fairfax, VA, eight grandchildren, Kiara Dunn, Minneapolis, MN; Betsy Dunn, Minnetonka, MN; Ryan Tompkins, Aaron and Brandon Baker, all of Fargo, ND and Christopher, Benjamin and Amelia Gordon of Fairfax, VA and two sisters, Phyllis (Alan) Campbell, Dunseith, ND and Marjorie (Robert) Solien, Lady Lake, FL.
She was preceded in death by parents, a son, James William, a son in infancy and one brother, Robert.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, April 25, 2005 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
No visitation is scheduled.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jamestown Hospital Foundation for the Hospice Program.
