Doris Walks, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota formerly of Wimbledon, North Dakota died Sunday, August 11, 2002 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Doris Smith was born February 17, 1919 in Courtenay Township, North Dakota, the daughter of Bert J. and Emma (Joos) Smith. She grew up and attended school in the Courtenay area and graduated from Courtenay High School in 1940. She married Walter David Walks on October 19, 1944 at Edgeley, ND. They lived in the Courtenay area until Mr. Walks death in 1961. Doris moved to Wimbledon in 1964. She worked at the Star Cafe in Wimbledon for 3 years. Doris made many beautiful afghans over the years that have added to the beauty of other peoples' homes. She also enjoyed flower gardening.
Doris was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon.
Doris is survived by nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, sister Harriet Parsons, and brother, LaDon J. Smith, Sr.
Funeral Service: 2:30PM Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Wimbledon, ND.
Visitation: Tuesday, August 13, 2002 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 8:00PM Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at the Central Dakota Village Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND
